MIYABI JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Being a wedding planner, I really love my job. But after a few tough deals recently, it felt good to be back at our homeground Raffles Town Club!! Though it is a country club, the services there can compete with any hotel banquet services. Always love working with the Raffles Town Club's banquet for weddings. And another plus point, there is a Japanese restaurant on the second storey that serve awesome Japanese cuisine. So to celebrate the belated birthday of a fellow colleague, our boss decided to give us a treat. *slurp*

(The mustard sauce really brings out the taste of the foie gras, Heavenly~)

Assorted Sashimi
Agedashi Tofu
Mixed Tempura
Grilled Salmon Tekiyaki
Salmon Don
(When this came, I was already 90% full. But still, how to resist?!?!)
Salmon fish head Miso soup

The photos don't do justice to the food, took using my ipad mini because i forgot my camera!!
Didn't manage to get photos of the restaurant as well because we were rushing for our dinner for our wedding work but nevertheless, you can check out their website at http://www.rafflestownclub.com.sg/03_w&d_miyabi.html or head down and try it for yourself!!
Wanted to try their desserts too, but we had no time. They have this deep-fried tofu cheese, sounds so interesting. So gonna come back next time!!!

HABITAT COFFEE

Yeah!! Finally back to cafe-hunting!! Work has been quite tiring for me recently, thankfully i find joy & comfort in food. And with the companion of my food buddy, Adeline!! Has always heard about Habitat Coffee but didnt manage to try it out. This time, I happened to be meeting a client nearby the area & decided to make the effort to head down.

HABITAT COFFEE
223 Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 574355
Operating hours: Tues to Fri - 11am to 10.30pm, Sat & Sun - 10.30am to 10.30pm, closed on Mon.
Tel: +65 6456 2567
Email: info@habitatcoffee.com.sg
Second floor dining area
All-Day Brunch: Egg benedict $12
Poached Eggs and honey baked Ham on sundried tomato bread topped with homemade Hollandaise sauce
(This has to be the most normal looking & tasting egg benedict i tried, nothing special but totally love their egg york that oozes out. Slurp~)
 Savory Pasta: Curry It $12
Asian Curry Chicken sauteed with pasta & grated Parmesan cheese
(This taste really unique. People always eat curry with rice, who would have thought it taste great with pasta)
Just Right: Hello Truffle Fries $8
Dressed with fine grated parmesan, this is Habitat Coffee's home seasoned Truffle Fries
(Everyone knows i love truffle fries, totally LOOOOOOVE this~ One of the nicer truffle fries i tasted.)
What is a cafe visit without trying their coffee?
Flavored Coffee: Hazelnut $5.90
Cafe Latte $4.90
What I like about this place is that it is really nice and comfy. Simple wooden interior, nothing expensive-looking, nothing over-the-board. Most of the staff there are school part-timers & teenagers, so you can really feel the young vibe & energy in the cafe. And more importantly, there is a bus-stop directly outside. So it is accessible & convenient to reach there. So gonna come back to try their desserts and other menu next. =)

NUS Science Dinner & Dance 2013

NUS Dinner and Dance (D&D) is one of the five Freshmen Orientation Projects (FOP) in NUS Faculty of Science, consisting of two events: Bash and Dinner& Dance. It is held in conjunction to search for the next Science King & Science Queen to represent NUS Faculty of Science in the annual NUSSU Bash as well as appreciating everyone for their hard work & involvement in the activities organized at the NUS Students' Science Club in the past academic year. Held in Intercontinental Hotel on 24th August 2013.

Being one of the sponsor, I was really honoured to be sent by my pageant organiser, Exclusive Resource Marketing Singapore (ERM Singapore), to help groom these young contestants as well as being one of the judges. I wouldn't call myself a professional groomer, but more of me sharing my experience as a pageant queen with them and guiding them with their catwalk & poses.
Really enjoyed myself guiding everyone, you guys are really a fun bunch to work with.
I will also like to thank the committee of the NUS Science D&D for having me =)

So, the actual day finally arrives. It was quite an achievement for me to see their transformation from the first day I met them to the actual day on stage. Being a finalist, everyone is a winner already.
Crowning Miss Sweetheart. Congrats!!
Receiving a token from the Committee Chairman. Thank you!!
Good job guys!! Everyone really shine on stage. Felt like a proud 'mummy' standing among them.
And congrats AoXiang & Brenda for clinching Science King & Queen.. =)
